This article seeks to investigate the use of mobile applications in foreign language classes in basic education through a systematic review. Pre-pandemics data from Policarpo and Bergmann's article, published in 2021, is the basis for this work. As a first result 488 publications were found when applying the same research strategies. However, when applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria for having the use of applications in foreign language classes as an objective, only 20 papers remain. Among these results, an increase in the number of publications in Latin America was noted, mostly from Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil. Therefore, this work is dedicated to not only study and comprehend the data but also to investigate the growing use of foreign language applications in Latin countries' basic education.
